Disability Equality Group
This group is the group overseeing the implementation of the duty by the Local Authority, CANDI was invited by this group to write some material and co-present disability equality training for employees across services.
A number of CANDI parents have contributed to the planning and delivery of this training which began in 2009. Level One training is web based and available for all employees of the Council. Level Two training includes parents and young people in delivering training to teams across services to ensure that Equality schemes are put into action.
Jo Whitehead represents Candi at this group and currently delivers training. Amanda Gray and Suzy Blackburn hope to join the training team.
